You will often see them parked next to each other. The red devil is my daily driver. It's a water cooled diesel, very reliable but so slow ....... The green monster has more nostalgic value. Mind you their ages differ by only 4 years.
The green monster on vacation. This picture was taken in July 1996 on a camping near Ostende in Belgium. Although the bus can sleep four we had two adults in the bus and two teenagers in the little tent. I can assure you that's better for all parties involved.
The T2 was probably the most popular van in the sixties. However, the competition from Japan was around the corner. So in 1979 the T3 was born, an even more box-like shape but with better aerodynamic characteristics.
To complete my collection I would like to get a 'splitty. Due to our wet and cold climate they are very rare. Even a T2 is hard to find and the number of T3's (vanagons) on the road is deminishing rapidly. The best thing would be to import a splitty from California.
